Biography
Odmar Amaral Gurgel (Salto, February 12, 1909 — Mogi das Cruzes, 1992) was a Brazilian conductor, arranger, composer and pianist. His stage name, Gaó, was inspired by the initials of his name written backwards. He worked as artistic director at the Columbia record label. With his Colbaz Orchestra, Gaó was the first to record the song "Tico-tico no Fubá", composed by Zequinha de Abreu. He joined Rádio Educadora Paulista in 1926, beginning his radio career. (Wikipedia)
